His work

His name is linked with the instituting of the Section of Fine Arts in the Secondary School of Arts in Pécs, the founding of the Pécs Workshop, the Pécs Visual Workshop, and the establishing of the Martyn Ferenc Free School of Arts under joint auspices with Apagyi Mária in 1985. At the end of the 60’s, Lantos Ferenc launched a programme of mural enamel-work in the Enamel Factory in Bonyhád. In 1979, in Paks, jointly with Halász Károly, he founded the Visual Experimental Workshop. From 1968 on, Lantos Ferenc and Apagyi Mária together have developed an integrated system of visual and musical teaching. Lantos was heading the Visual Section of the Martyn Ferenc Free School of Arts and, since 1994, he has been acting as professor in the Department of Painting in the Faculty of Arts of the Pécs University. In 1997, he was awarded the Doctor of Liberal Arts degree by the University of Pécs. In 2002, he won a scholarship by the Academy of Hungary in Rome. Since 1952, Lantos Ferenc has had 65 solo exhibitions, and he took part in about 150 group shows both in Hungary and abroad. His most important solo exhibitions are the following:
